Some Personal Information

As a medievalist and professor of musicology in the School of Music, I began teaching at UT Austin in the fall of 1967, and since fall 2005 I continue as a professor emerita.  At the graduate level, I regularly taught Music of the Middle Ages, Medieval and Renaissance Notation, and History of Music Theory to 1750, along with seminars on special topics.  At the undergraduate level I regularly taught Introduction to Western Music; Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance Music; American Popular Song from 1920 to 1970; and most recently, The Delta Blues Tradition.  See below for additional information on my work and interests.
